Privacy Policy

You can be assured that we respect your trust in us and will carefully protect your privacy.

SIM USA, Inc. (“SIM”) has created this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use and protect information gathered on this website and how we protect your personal privacy.

In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy. Please note that this Privacy Policy may undergo changes. SIM will post all Policy changes on this page.

By using the Site, you agree: (1) that you have reviewed and understood our Terms and Conditions and these Privacy Policies, (2) that you accept and are subject to our Terms and Conditions and these Privacy Policies, and (3) that SIM is permitted to use your personal information as set forth below.

Information We Collect

SIM gathers two types of information about you on the Site:

  1. Information you provide through optional, voluntary submissions throughout the Site. These optional, voluntary submissions include, but are limited to, requests: (a) to receive our e-mails and/or print publications, (b) to make a purchase at our online store, (c) to make a donation online, and/or (d) to make use of any of our other online services.
  2. Information gathered through aggregated tracking. This aggregated tracking information includes, without limitation: (a) information such as the server your computer is logged onto, (b) your browser type (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera or Safari), and (c) the pages you view/request to be viewed. This information allows us to better tailor our content to your needs.

How We Use Your Information

SIM collects and uses your personal information to operate the SIM Web site and deliver the services you have requested. SIM also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from SIM and its affiliates. SIM may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

Sharing

SIM does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. SIM may, from time to time, share aggregated demographic information with our partners and affiliates, and we recognize our liability related to the transfer of that data. However, in those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. In addition, SIM may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to SIM, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. It is our responsibility to ensure that the trusted partners we share data with are processing the information consistent with the best principles possible, and we have chosen to follow principles as outlined by the Privacy Shield Principles. Otherwise, we remain liable for the data we have shared.

Disclosure Exceptions

SIM’s Web sites will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on SIM or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of SIM; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the SIM website, or the public. SIM is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Finally, under certain conditions, individuals can invoke binding arbitration.
