SIM USA’s mandate is to connect God’s people to God’s work in the world. Passionate to see the body of Christ in all places and among all peoples, we support SIM’s efforts to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in communities where He is least known.
SIM USA serves as a catalyst for global missions, assisting evangelical churches and believers in the United States to:
- engage effectively in mission work.
- financially invest in SIM ministries and missionary support, and pray for SIM personnel, ministries and the people among whom we work.
Our goals include facilitating hundreds more people to serve long-term, and enhancing partnerships with donors and churches. We also prayerfully desire to see growth amongst our staff and capable leaders equipped to serve the ministry into the future.
In March of 2020, we welcome Randy Fairman as the new SIM USA director.
Communities where He is least known
Immigrants in urban centers
More than 44.5 million immigrants reside in the United States as of 2017 (Migration Information Source). Global movement to the US continues to grow, with large numbers of people settling in urban centers. Churches, SIM USA’s Culture ConneXions team, and mission partners such as Global Frontier Mission minister among these neighbors to build relationships and share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ.
SIM/Asian Access Partnership for Japan
More than 99 percent of Japan’s 125 million people do not know Jesus, making this the second largest population in the world that is living and dying without Him. SIM missionaries in Japan serve with Asian Access in cooperation with national partners in making disciples that will bless local communities in Jesus’ name. Momentum is growing for a church multiplication movement, with the goal to see 2 per cent of Japanese following Jesus by 2023. The 2020 Olympics in Tokyo brings a fresh opportunity to reach new areas and identify new missionaries, thus building connections and capacity for further expansion.
Pray for churches and SIM USA’s Culture ConneXions teams as they seek to bring God’s good news to people who’ve not heard it.
Pray for increased SIM partnerships and long-term missionaries from among AfricanAmerican, Asian-American and Hispanic churches.
Pray for Randy Fairman and his wife, Robin, as he transitions to the US director role.
Pray for dozens of teams to be sent to churches across Japan for special outreach before the 2020 Olympics.
Pray for eight churches being planted in partnership with Japanese leaders to be established.
