Increase the number of U.S. workers going overseas through SIM, with the goal of sending 100 new long-term missionaries each year.
Together, Let’s Ask the Lord of the Harvest for More Workers
In Matthew 9, Jesus is struck by the crowds flocking to Him for healing, help, and hope. Matthew tells us, “He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (9:36).
That description seems especially fitting in 2020, a year marked by a global pandemic and widespread economic devastation. People are desperate and spiritual hunger is growing.
In that moment with His disciples, Jesus didn’t instruct them to work overtime to help reach the lost. Instead, He told them to pray.
"Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'"
Join Us in Praying Daily at 9:38 a.m.
Today, we are asking you to join us in prayer as we commit to train, equip, and send more workers to share the goodness of Jesus. We’re praying for:
- Courage and boldness to press forward with the strategic goal God has laid on our hearts to send 100 new long-term missionaries each year.
- Wisdom to know how to recruit more workers in new and transformative ways.
- Opportunities to creatively care for our current workers.
- Financial resources to advance this vision and make it a reality.
In recognition of Matthew 9:38, many of us at SIM have set an alarm on our phones to pray for these requests every day at 9:38 a.m. We are seeking 100,000 people to join us in praying daily for more workers. We ask for your prayers at 9:38 a.m. in your time zone, or any time you choose to pray. You can let us know you’re praying by filling out the information below:
Together, let’s ask our Father to release a flood of workers for His harvest field! THANK YOU for being a partner with us in sharing Jesus where He is not yet known.
