Deborah House

Not forgotten

Liya was rejected by everyone. Abandoned on the harsh streets of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia—not even her family wanted to care for her—she was left to fend for herself.

Eleven-year-old Liya did everything she could to earn acceptance and love from her immediate family and relatives, but after eight months she resigned herself to being a homeless child beggar. She sat down sobbing, completely broken and alone.

Eventually, she was found by a police officer who took her to the local station and helped find her a place to stay at SIM’s ministry for homeless girls, Deborah House.

Here Liya was accepted, fed three meals a day, and provided with therapy and even a loving foster home so she could continue with her schooling. Most of all, she was told that she was loved by a heavenly Father who will never abandon or reject her!

Your gift today will provide homeless girls with help and the hope-filled message that they are important, they are loved, and they are priceless in the eyes of God!
