As COVID-19 spreads across vulnerable communities in Africa, South America, and South Asia, your impact will multiply to safeguard SIM medical workers and their colleagues as they fight to save lives.
SIM medical workers and their colleagues serving on the front lines of the pandemic are living out what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Knowing the risk to themselves, they are putting others first.
Right now, these faithful servants need your help. They are in urgent need of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as masks, gloves, and gowns, as well as supplies needed to treat COVID-19 patients and save lives.
We’re grateful that additional challenge funds of $100,000 have been given to help meet this critical need, increasing the total challenge funds to $220,000. Your gift today, when combined with the challenge funds, will double in impact to provide these lifesaving supplies and help meet the $850,000 total need. (The challenge funds only apply to this request and not to individual SIM workers or other projects.)
SIM workers and their colleagues in some communities are having to wash their personal protective equipment each day and hang it outside to dry, to be used again the following day. Your gift will help supply them with safe, hygienic PPE. You’ll also provide them with vital supplies like soap, disinfectants, and oxygen for patients who are struggling to breathe.
God has uniquely positioned SIM to help lead the response to the pandemic in this part of the world. Our significant experience with Ebola, a previous health crisis, has equipped us with insight and expertise to fight this pandemic in vulnerable, underserved communities.
We never want you to feel pressured to give. But if you feel led, please prayerfully consider how you might partner with us at this critical time. Thanks to the additional challenge funds, your gift will double in impact. Thank you.
