Silence in the public square on the topic of racism can reasonably be interpreted as indifference. For the sake of clarity about where we stand on racism, we at SIM USA want to publicly declare our convictions about the rightful equality of all Americans regardless of their ethnic identity.
First and foremost, we are convinced that just as all humans are created in God’s image, so also all humans have equal dignity before God and deserve equal justice and dignity before man. Racism in all its various forms stems from sinful hearts that need to be transformed by the Spirit of God.
SIM USA exists because Jesus Christ is the way and the truth and the life. We come together as community to spread that good news to the ends of earth. At SIM USA, we strive in all that we do to demonstrate the goodness of Jesus in community. We demonstrate His goodness through the things that we do and the things that we say.
One of our foundational core values is that our testimony about the goodness of Jesus is strengthened through the diversity of our community. In addition to our inner convictions, we are committed to practical action.
SIM USA continues to pursue a diverse community of believers in Jesus with a unified identity that fully embodies all of the various ethnic identities and cultures that make up the Church in our country. We are committed to this path as a calling from God and we know it is not easy.

Father, thank you for allowing us to serve in this day when we can see so clearly that our best hope for healing is the saving power of Jesus Christ. Please guide us in our journey towards reflecting the goodness of Jesus in all of our beautiful differences. In Jesus’ great name, Amen.
