Praise that Wendy has purchased her tickets and is scheduled to return to Thailand on June 24. Pray that she will be able to raise the 15% of support she still lacks while visiting churches and friends in the five weeks before she is scheduled to depart. Pray that the Lord will continue to give her excitement and eagerness to return to her home, friends and ministry there. Pray for her in the difficult process of saying goodbyes.
Prang and her family had a history with oppressive evil spirits. When Prang began knowing Christ, she finally felt peace and freedom from the spirits that used to plague her. “She’s experienced many struggles in her life and has been really open about it,” says SIM cross-cultural worker Genine Thomas, who has developed a strong friendship with Prang, who is her family’s house helper in Thailand. “I see her more as a friend than my house helper. I’m thankful she can be open with us in sharing what she’s feeling, asking for advice, and reading the Bible. She’s growing more as a Christian.” I began wanting to know more about God because I was having a lot of terrible problems with evil spirits that were bothering my family. My mother was a medium and she communicated for an evil spirit. When my mother was possessed by the spirit, she would … Read More

Pray for missionaries needed to fill leadership and management roles, as well as others willing to work among the Thai to build relationships, share the gospel and plant churches. Pray also that they will find grace and strength for their busy schedules and balance responsibilities well.
Praise for God’s direction in Alyssa’s life to use her athletic ability by joining Sports Friends, which equips local churches to reach youth through sports. Pray for focus and discipline as she works through many helpful and required trainings, including cross-cultural living, language acquisition, doctrine, etc., and that she would wrap up her current job successfully. Pray that God will bless the team in Thailand and provide a smooth transition for her as she becomes a part of it. Pray also for prayer and financial supporters to join her ministry.
Praise for Ryan’s opportunity to travel to a neighboring country to see SIM’s work there and to minister in several venues. Pray for him as he goes to Laos for ministry investigation the end of this month. Pray for Heidi as she accepts the invitation to become a board member of Grace International School – a heavy commitment of time as the school seeks funding to erect its own building. Pray also for wisdom for the Missions Committee members as they discuss the application process of the first Thai couple to be sent as missionaries through SIM Thailand.
Praise for the opportunity Denise had to visit another SE Asian country to discover stories of God’s work to highlight in her work as a communications writer. Pray for the missionaries there in the long process of building trust with minority people groups. Pray for the needs for administration and finance personnel in the SIM Thailand office. Pray for one of her teammates who is doing it all and is quite overloaded. Pray also for discernment for Denise as she enters her second year of ministry (and considers extending her time), and for safe travels next month as she visits the US briefly.
Pray for the Francises as they prepare to move from Thailand in a few days to begin ministry in another Asian country. Pray that Steve can help the new treasurer for SIM C-SEA be well prepared to assume this responsibility. Pray they can find a good balance between moving on/letting go and keeping in touch with those with whom they have become close. Pray for good closure with Thai friends, and that some items they still have will sell. Pray for discernment to choose wisely within the ministry opportunities ahead of them and for a good adjustment to new situations and ministry partners.
Praise for the Lord’s provision of a temporary facility (a school built for 1000 students that currently has only 100) to provide space for the students of Grace International School, which had to vacant its current location. Sharon writes, “Just a short time ago we had no idea of what to do next. While there is a grieving process at the loss of our wonderful school, we are thrilled with this new place that God had in His back pocket waiting to pull out and surprise us!” Pray for the staff members as they pack and move the school, as well as learn how to share the facility with another school running at the same time. Pray they can be ready by August 1.
