Praise for the rest and reconnections Steve and Sherree had over the holidays in Thailand. Pray for them as they deal with the cold, continue language learning, and work to balance learning and ministry. Praise for the successful walk-a-thon held in January that raised over $55,000 toward the new building for the international study center. Pray that the additional funds needed will come in and for the transition to the new site in February. Pray for wisdom for Steve as he leads the school/staff through the budgeting process.
Praise that God has brought Josh and Bethany to a place of peace about remaining in the US for another six months. Pray for Josh’s trip to South Asia in February to grieve the loss of a dear friend, check on their unattended apartment, encourage teammates, water seeds of the gospel planted in friends and meet with leadership to talk about their future in South Asia. Pray that God would grant all they need to return to the field: renewed vision, financial provision, visa platform, and continued healing and restoration for Bethany.
Praise that after the past three years in South Asia Sarah now has a legally-registered company, bank account and a long list of students. Praise for the over half-a-dozen women and families that she and her team pray for regularly who are receiving truth slowly into their lives. Praise also for the way God has used her to contribute to her field’s leadership team, write stories of what God is doing through them and coach new team members in language learning. Pray for a new visa to be granted and for new supporters to join her team so that she can return to the field.
Praise for Don and Cheryl’s safe arrival in country. Praise for their 90-day visa that allowed them to enter the country, and pray for the process of extending these visas now that they are on site. Praise for the recent SIM annual conference and the seven regional teams that make up the country-wide SIM team. Pray for Don and Cheryl as they are currently ‘alone’ in their city and for the two families that will join them soon. Pray for more workers to join them as well. Pray that Cheryl will be able to share the light of the gospel through the ESL program with which she will be working.
Praise for Nick and Jennifer’s God-given mission to join where his Spirit is working among the least-reached by equipping indigenous believers to bring the gospel to their own people. Praise for those who have joined Nick and Jennifer’s team, and pray for others to come alongside and invest in them with prayer and finances. Pray that their visa application process will be smooth and that they will be accepted without any issues. Pray that God would prepare hearts and minds in Asia to hear the truth of the good news and respond.
Praise that Matt and Michelle are about to complete 22 years of working overseas and that they have been blessed with such a committed and faithful group of people standing with them year after year. Praise that they were able to share at a Business for Transformation conference recently. Praise especially that they have been able to return to South Asia again to start a new season of ministry. Pray they would find housing quickly so they can establish a ‘home’ as soon as possible, and for the financial provision needed for the extra expenses of this transition. Pray for God’s presence and fruit in this new chapter of their lives
Praise that Jacob has received his South Asian work permit. Pray that their visa applications, now on the consulate’s desk, will soon be approved. Praise that the Lord has provided for their family in so many ways. Pray now that additional needed funds, due to extended time in the US on home assignment, unexpected expenses, plus the birth of a new baby will be provided. Pray for God’s grace and comfort for the family of their missionary pilot brother-in-law who recently, while in flight to Alaska to pick up their church’s work team, including Jacob, crashed and died. Praise for the many lives he touched with the love of Christ.
Praise that the flood waters around the Children’s Home are beginning to recede. Praise that the children have safe well water to drink and are back in school. Praise for Anthony’s 10 English students and pray he would have a chance to share the good news with them. Pray that the conference they are coordinating for their team in November will be rejuvenating. Pray for wisdom and favor as they pursue a business platform to enable their visa renewal.
Praise for the information and encouragement the family received at a recent SIMGo. Pray for them as they start their year of travel to meet with people and churches about supporting them through prayer and finances – all the while still working at their full-time jobs. Pray for Nick as he continues spiritual conversations with his co-workers, and pray that their hearts would be open and they would come to know the Savior.
