Praise that the Rideouts have completed their home assignment and returned to Niger. Praise that they have returned refreshed in soul, mind, and body and ready for the new adventures God has planned for them. Pray for them as they reconnect with friends and seek to share Jesus with those who cross their path. Pray that God would equip them to transition well and adjust to a new field director, SIMAIR and office teammates.
Praise that the Blakes were energized by their time of debriefing at SIM USA headquarters and six-week road trip reconnecting with partners to share their lives and ministry in Niger. Pray that God would provide the one-time finances for anticipated extra ministry expenses and the $1000 monthly ongoing support needed to continue in ministry. Pray that the remainder of their time in the States would be refreshing and glorifying to God. Pray especially that the people group to whom they minister would continue to seek the truth.
Praise that Ken has had help in Treasury for six weeks and has made progress in streamlining Treasury processes. Praise for the recent Bible school graduates and pray that as they become pastors they will stay true to the Word and faithful to their calling. Pray for stamina for the Goldes and all the missionaries who are in the extreme heat of summer with temperatures 105-110 each day. Pray also for an Administrative Director for the Danja hospitals, since the director role is too large for one person.
Praise for a time for rest and renewal for the Browns in the US and for the several people who are filling in for them at the two valuable Danja medical centers where Steve has been the director of both. Praise also that after Steve’s meeting with Worldwide Fistula Fund, a new system of receiving the funding they give will be implemented, which will be fairer to SIM and require less detailed financial reporting. Pray for guidance for the Browns as they listen to the Lord about their path forward.
Praise for the opportunity Nate had to learn from and connect with a community of Christian scholars in Oxford, England, while on home assignment and for the possibility it opened for studies at some future time. Pray for wisdom, grace, and patience for both as they complete administrative tasks, pack and say goodbye to family and friends. Pray for safety in travel on July 15 and for a good transition for them and the children as they return to life and ministry in Niger.
Praise that the Foxes have completed their first full year serving at Sahel Academy. Pray for the eleven recent graduates as they adjust to college abroad. Pray for Bob and Cheryl as they prepare for next year’s classes and that the Lord will fill open positions. Praise for the Foxes’ faithful prayer and financial supporters, and pray for additional support to cover increased costs. Pray also for opportunities to share Christ with unbelievers whose hearts have been softened.
Praise for the opportunity Sadie and Becky had to serve at Sahel Academy as Dorm Assistants for two years and for every one of their dorm kids. Pray as both Sadie and Becky are in the US for the summer after which Becky will return to Niger and Sadie will remain and look for a job. Pray also for smooth transitions and good Christian friends for the two seniors from their dorm who just graduated and will be attending university in the US – one is Nigerien and has never been to the States.
Praise for safety in over 29,000 miles traveled on home assignment, and for the opportunities, they have had to spend quality time with family, supporters, and churches. Praise also that John graduated from his doctoral program in Oxford, England. Pray that the remaining $125 of support the DeValves need will be raised before they return to Niger July 24. Pray also that they can make substantial progress on the projects they want to complete before leaving.
Praise for the opportunity the Eberles have to return to Niger to offer professional development to schools by training their teachers. Pray that the many Christian schools throughout the country will take advantage of the training to improve their teachers’ basic teaching skills and integrate their faith into all they do with students who do not come from Christian homes. Pray that God will supply what is lacking in their financial support so that they can return by August 14 when school starts once again.
