Praise for the recent successful Healthcare Leadership Conference in Kenya. Pray for the SIM Health Ministry Team’s ongoing mission to shape, support and strengthen local leaders who provide medical services to downtrodden and marginalized people, and introduce them to Jesus. After five years full-time in this ministry, pray for the Friesens who are now SIM volunteer associates and available for special assignments. Pray for Quinton as he travels to Niger along with Dr. Kendrick Lau after Thanksgiving to work with the Danja Fistula Center’s medical ministry.
Praise for the opportunity Steve has to teach at Moffat Bible College. Pray that he can build deep relationships with his students as he seeks to show, teach and live Christ with them. Pray that a men’s group will come together soon on the campus and be a source of authentic relationships, healing and spiritual growth for those who attend. Pray that Jen will find a good routine as she cares for the younger children including homeschooling two.
Praise for two weeks in Germany training to be facilitators for International Training Partners, which offers the Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills (SYIS) program providing biblical knowledge and skills to relate well with others. Pray now for the opportunity for the MacLachlans to lead SYIS in Ethiopia. Pray for them as they are presently in Addis helping the SIM Ethiopia director in a time of special leadership team transitions. Pray for the right people to join the team. Praise for two missionary couples now who will be working with refugees from a neighboring country.
Praise for the heart that God has given the Brinks for the poor and struggling of Guatemala. Pray for the physical and spiritual life of the security guards that Jason works with especially as many are trapped by poverty and are separated from their families. Pray for the women that Marcy works with who are seeking to get out and stay out of the sex trade. Pray that they would grow in their relationship with the Lord, allow Him to heal them, and succeed in their training so they can secure life-changing jobs.
Praise for a strong beginning in Guarani language learning for the Bryants, great classmates, and a teacher who challenges and encourages them well. They say, “Although learning another’s mother tongue is not for the faint of heart, we know it is of utmost importance here in rural Paraguay.” Pray for continued strength as they juggle all the tasks they for each day, patience with their kids and perspective on the tough days.
Praise that God has provided 100% of their required monthly support, plus a little extra! Pray that the Lord will provide 25 more daily prayer partners for their family. Pray for the ability to maneuver the application process effectively and success in securing their residence visa in a timely manner. Pray that their visas will be issued soon so they can move to their next and final priority of purchasing air tickets for departure. Pray for wisdom regarding schooling for their children.
Praise for the production of six videos explaining appropriate physical therapy for children with disabilities. Pray for Sherri as she writes a new curriculum for the physiotherapy department of Kijabe Hospital using adult learning principles, and pray that the changes will be accepted by the staff. Praise that Steve’s nephew has come to work with Sports Friends for 10 months. Steve writes, “We are excited to see what the Lord has for [him] this year in Kenya.”
Praise for the people who have already joined the Butchers’ support team. Pray that many more would commit to give and pray for them as they prepare to move to Kenya as a photographer and short-term coordinator. Pray especially for their fundraiser today. Praise that their lease was extended to the end of the year. Pray for housing for the month of January, strength for the many events and changes in the next few months, and a good time of training and support raising in Germany before their final departure.
Praise that Alan and seven other missionaries and volunteers will be traveling to Liberia to assist in the installation of a generator and transformers. Praise that the Samaritan’s Purse plane (delayed twice) will fly them and the equipment on October 21. Pray for Cheri and the boys as they remain in the US on home assignment. Praise that the Lord has provided a home for them and they are settling into the normal routine of life here. Pray for grace for the family as Alan is away for two weeks.
