Praise that the Morrises will be in the US for five weeks, beginning July 16. Pray for safety in travel and for physical and spiritual refreshment for them while here. Pray also for Richard as he holds conferences on spiritual warfare July 20-21 in Ventura, CA, and August 3-4 in Lake Zurich, IL. Praise that the Illinois conference will be filmed and used for future in-house training sessions and that the church is allowing him to use their equipment to film several videos in French for their YouTube channel.
Praise for the Bradleys’ graduation from their language studies in Addis. Pray for them as they have now moved north to Bahir Dar to begin ministry and continue learning Amharic. Pray for Chad who has been appointed to teach at the Bible College and travel with Tim Fellows to the countryside to train church leaders in rural areas of northern Ethiopia. Pray also for health for the family and especially for Nancy who is expecting their second child.
Praise that the group of rural pastors Tim had been teaching for three years have now graduated. Pray for their ministry in new churches and for guidance for Tim regarding a new area to train pastors. Pray for Tim as he trains leaders at the end of July to share the gospel with a remote tribe in Ethiopia/Sudan. Pray also for Diane as she uses physical therapy skills to help special needs children and assists in the management of the Hidden Abilities ministry.
Praise for a new set of primers that were introduced at the Yom church conference in April. Pray that there will be many more readers of the Yom Bible as a result of diligence on the part of both teachers and students to learn to read. Pray also for the continuing work on the production of the Yom Bible. Pray that God will expedite the remaining steps needed to bring it to completion, including the printing of 3000 copies in Korea and shipping them to Cotonou by boat. Pray that the final copies will be ready for the dedication likely to be scheduled for June 2019.
Praise that Katie had a good time in the US while on home assignment and for the many long-time and new members of her support and encouragement team. Pray for smooth and safe travels as Katie returns to Guinea to serve children and families by providing community and education programs. Pray for good connections within the community through the Science Camps she has planned for three weeks in August. Pray also for wisdom for her as she serves the SIM Guinea team as Personnel Coordinator.
Praise that Mark has been assigned to a new global ministry position called “Mission Chaplaincy Lead” serving SIM missionaries around the world. Pray for him as he develops a team of well-trained multi-cultural missionary chaplains to serve with him. Pray for Stacy as she completes her Chaplaincy certification and continues her grad studies in Pastoral Counseling in Crisis and Trauma. Pray for wisdom as they plan future travel and lead training on pastoral and trauma care within SIM as well as other organizations.
Praise that the Rideouts have completed their home assignment and returned to Niger. Praise that they have returned refreshed in soul, mind, and body and ready for the new adventures God has planned for them. Pray for them as they reconnect with friends and seek to share Jesus with those who cross their path. Pray that God would equip them to transition well and adjust to a new field director, SIMAIR and office teammates.
Praise that Caroline had a great year of teaching at Bingham Academy and is now in the US for the summer. Pray that she would be able to see many to thank them for their partnership and share what God has done in and through her. Pray for Caroline and the other teachers as they prep for the next school year, and that all the Bingham Academy staff members would bond together over one common mission and vision at their two-week orientation in August.
Praise for the call God gave to the Hegemans to minister at Sahel Academy. Pray that He will lead them to people who will support them financially. Pray for balance and energy in doing all of their training and relationship building while Martin is still working full time. Pray for discernment as to when he should quit his job and devote his time to building their prayer and financial team. Pray also for urgent staffing needs at Sahel for the next school year.
